Dr. Joseph Solinger, Director of Development
I was raised in Mitchellville Iowa, and attended Southeast Polk High School where I played football and wrestled. I was also active in Tae Kwon Do, earning a black belt. I attended the University of Northern Iowa for my undergraduate studies and the University of Iowa for Dental School graduating in 2002. I married my wife Arianna, and we have three children, Jet 10, Jenica 8 & Jack 6. I have a younger sister Jane who resides with her husband Ryan, and their two daughters in Waukee. My sister-in-law Lindsay lives in Orlando, FL with her husband Daniel and their twin girls. Both my parents, as well as my in-laws live in the Des Moines area and are extremely active in our daily lives. I am a huge Iowa Hawkeye fan and enjoy spending time with my family enjoying the outdoors, movies & traveling. We are all excited to join the community in Dubuque.
I graduated from the University of Iowa Dental School in 2002. The summer after graduation I worked in the special care clinic at the University. I then ran a general practice in Newton, IA by myself for a year until I relocated to the LaCrosse, Wisconsin area to be an associate in a large family and cosmetically focused practice. After a year I decided to move back to central Iowa where my family was located and start my own practice. I was the owner and operator of a family dental practice in West Des Moines, IA for almost 9 years before my wife and I decided our family needed a change of scenery. After a lot of searching we fell in love with the Dubuque area and decided this is the place we would like to raise our young family. I have taken hundreds of hours of continuing education focusing on everything from general dentistry to full mouth reconstructions to orthodontics and everything in between. I have been very active doing charity work mostly for disabled veterans and low income children that do not have great access to quality care. My favorite part of my job is the transformation I see people make when they improve their smile. I also enjoy the lasting relationships I make with my family of patients.
